iOS update restores broken iCloud sync

iOS 26.4.1 is rolling out with a targeted fix for an iPhone bug that stopped iCloud data from syncing, including entries in Apple Passwords. The update follows reports on Apple’s developer forums, where users described stalled backups and missing changes across devices.

According to those threads, affected iPhones appeared online in iCloud but failed to push or pull new data, leaving keychains, app data, and file changes out of date. iOS 26.4.1 is designed to restore that sync pipeline so that Apple Passwords and other iCloud services resume normal replication between devices signed into the same account.

Apple’s official release notes reference general bug fixes and security improvements but do not detail the sync issue. Developers and early adopters, however, have linked the new build to the iCloud behavior change, suggesting that the release specifically addresses the background sync failure that surfaced in recent test versions.
