Apple nudges up Music and Apple One prices

Sticker shock, not new hardware, is what hits Apple users now. Apple has raised the monthly price of Apple Music in the US, and lifted the cost of most Apple One bundles that tie Music to iCloud storage, TV Plus, Arcade and other services, shifting more revenue extraction onto its existing base of subscribers.

The outlier is the individual Apple One plan, which stays at its prior rate and quietly becomes the psychological entry point to the bundle. That flat price acts like a reference anchor in behavioral economics, making the higher family and Premier tiers look like the place where heavy users are meant to subsidize Apple’s services margin, even as content licensing and original programming costs climb.
This move underlines a bet that churn will remain low. Apple Music is deeply integrated into iOS and the broader ecosystem, and Apple One functions as a kind of digital lock-in, bundling cloud storage with entertainment in a way that makes switching to rival platforms feel messy and time consuming. Competitors such as Spotify and Amazon already adjusted their own music pricing, giving Apple cover to move in parallel rather than risk leaving money on the table.
For consumers, the message is blunt. Pay more for a single service, or accept the nudge into a bundle that still advertises one unchanged tier while quietly ratcheting up the rest.
