PHYND brings free cloud gaming to LG TVs

Cloud gaming looks less like a gamble and more like a land grab as PHYND switches on a free beta for LG Smart TVs. The service, now available as a native TV app, lets owners stream and play titles without a console, relying instead on PHYND’s remote servers and low-latency video delivery.
The bold part is friction. No box. No downloads. Just an LG Smart TV, a compatible Bluetooth gamepad or a mobile phone acting as a virtual controller, and a reasonably stable broadband connection handling both input latency and adaptive bitrate streaming. PHYND is betting that this zero-hardware entry lowers acquisition cost and boosts daily engagement on big screens already sitting idle between video sessions.
For LG, the move quietly upgrades its televisions into de facto gaming endpoints, adding another use case to its app ecosystem and strengthening retention inside its own interface. For PHYND, each TV becomes a distribution node, expanding its free footprint and testing server orchestration, session management and controller mapping at scale. If the beta holds up under peak concurrent sessions, living rooms start to look less like console territory and more like PHYND’s to lose.
