The move signals a technical escalation rather than a cosmetic tweak. HDR10+ Advanced pushes scene-by-scene and even frame-by-frame dynamic metadata into the video pipeline, adjusting peak luminance, gamma and color volume on the fly so that bright highlights, dark shadows and midtones are all actively optimized for each panel rather than locked to a generic static curve.
For Prime Video, the partnership quietly strengthens its premium tier against rival platforms that lean on Dolby Vision branding, while giving studios a defined workflow for tone mapping and motion handling across a huge installed base of Samsung sets.
