Felix moves into sleep apnea care

One quiet diagnosis now sits at the centre of Felix Health’s next bet. Sleep apnea, long treated as a niche concern, is being pulled into the core of virtual primary care as Felix launches a new program in collaboration with MedSleep across key Canadian provinces.

The move looks less like a side project and more like a strategic reframing of metabolic disease. With estimates that more than one in four Canadian adults face high risk for obstructive sleep apnea, Felix is using its telehealth infrastructure to route patients to formal sleep-clinic assessment, including polysomnography and continuous positive airway pressure titration delivered by MedSleep sites in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta.
What stands out is the decision to bind sleep medicine to medical weight management rather than to treat them as parallel tracks. Felix clinicians can review symptoms such as excessive daytime sleepiness and witnessed apneas, order referral for diagnostic workup through MedSleep, then evaluate whether pharmacologic weight-loss therapy targeting insulin resistance and adiposity should sit beside devices like CPAP in a single care plan.
This is less about adding another online intake form and more about tightening a care loop that is often fragmented between primary care, respirology and endocrinology. As Felix signals plans to extend the service into additional provinces, the experiment now under way is whether a consumer-facing digital front door can actually shorten the path from snoring complaint to documented apnea-hypopnea index and sustained treatment adherence.
