MolBoolean Reads Protein States

Fixed cells hold their secrets badly, until an assay can separate presence from partnership. Atlas Antibodies has introduced MolBoolean, an in situ proximity assay designed to measure free protein A, free protein B, and the A-B complex within the same fixed-cell or tissue experiment. Three signals. One specimen.

The separation changes the question. Conventional protein readouts can show that two targets exist in a sample, yet leave their interaction unresolved. MolBoolean centers on in situ proximity, producing a complex-specific signal while retaining measurements for unbound protein pools. Protein-protein interaction becomes less like a blur. The assay acts like a packet inspector inside a network: it checks whether two molecular addresses arrive together rather than merely counting traffic at each address.
The larger prize is context. For researchers studying signaling, receptor engagement, or biomarker behavior, the split view could turn a static image into a map of molecular state. Fixed tissue no longer has to offer abundance alone. If interaction status can be read beside protein quantity in one preparation, cellular heterogeneity starts behaving like computable biological information.
